Would you believe that you could go to
Hell for not following the second commandment, which says "
THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF?"
Well, this is exactly what the LORD revealed to me as I spent close time in study with Him six days ago.
The Second Commandment
I recorded it in my offline journal then, but have finally found some peaceful time to just sit and record it here as well.
I will give an overview of what I learned, as I have already recorded our study session in my personal hand-written journal. My prayer is that the LORD speaks to you through this post, and that you receive it in Jesus' name. And, if you will not receive it; I have done my part:
Matthew 10:14-15 says,
14And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
15Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
Thank You, Jesus.
Before I began reading my Bible on October 15, 2009 I asked the LORD to lead me in scripture, where ever it was that He desired for me to go. I had no intentions of blogging about it... it was my intimate time with God, where I journal and keep record of our time together (3 full journals since I got saved in 2006, 1 half-full one, and one I just began). Not everything I have been obedient in blogging about; then again, Not everything is meant to be shared. And, if it is, God will give us the time upon which to share it.
Now,
The Second Commandment
There was a scriptural example on the first page of my Bible that I read from the Book of Mark.
Mark 12:29-31 says (bolded emphasis added),
29And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, HEAR, O ISRAEL; THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD:
30AND THOU SHALT LOVE THE LORD THY GOD WITH ALL THY HEART, AND WITH ALL THY SOUL, AND WITH ALL THY MIND, AND WITH ALL THY STRENGTH: this is the first commandment.
31And the second is like, namely this, THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR AS THYSELF. THERE IS NONE OTHER COMMANDMENT GREATER THAN THESE.
..."THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR AS THYSELF. THERE IS NONE OTHER COMMANDMENT GREATER THAN THESE."
It was as if those words came to life for me at that very moment. I don't
hate people, yet sometimes it is difficult for me to
love them
where they are. At times I just wish life would speed itself up and everyone could be saved, sanctified and totally committed to Christ; on-fire for Christ, baptized with the Holy Ghost, speaking in tongues-- the whole nine!
Can I admit that dealing with those who are not mature in Christ (which has nothing to do with speaking in tongues. I am talking
spiritual maturity), irritates me at times? Not to the point where I lash out. But I do make faces, shake my head and
eventually brush it off as "OK, that's how the world behaves." That's their excuse. They have an
EXCUSE! That's my typical rationalization of the situation.
I think
now, and I'm like "Yeah, OK LORD, I was there at one point." But, really what I'm
constantly thinking is, "LORD, help them" and maan, was I dumb (in my past). I see it in others who are not mature in Christ. I observe their behaviour and think, "
GEE, I'm so glad I'm not where they are, (where I used to be!)" It's like a genuine internal-"Thank-You,-JESUS!"
After reading the text on the page:
THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR AS THYSELF. THERE IS NONE OTHER COMMANDMENT GREATER THAN THESE, in RED..., CAPITAL letters,
- I journaled: "I even told myself aloud today on the drive home from work: 'My flesh can't do it, my flesh doesn't want to!'"
- I paused.
- I looked up.
- I uttered aloud: "LORD, we're going to work on this?" Then I said, "Yes, we're going to work on this. I'm going to work on this!"
I then glanced down and saw Jesus' words in RED, on the page staring at me, which read "
Thou art not far from the kingdom of God," Mark 12:34.
Before continuing on reading in scripture, I meditated on what I believe in my HEART that the LORD was speaking to me (Mark 12:34). God was telling me, paraphrased "You're almost there. You are not far from the Kingdom of God..." (Heaven!) Just a few more steps, beloved!!
I began crying. A light and humble cry. It was a joyful cry! A REJOICING cry!:
Mark 12:34 (emphasis added), says,
34And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.
After God revealed Mark 12:34 to me personally, the end result of this testimony is that God will help me with this inevitable thing that we must do as children and servants of God with the help of the Holy Spirit:
"THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR AS THYSELF. THERE IS NONE OTHER COMMANDMENT GREATER THAN THESE."I can't do it. This flesh can't do it; it doesn't want to! I don't know about
your flesh, but mine doesn't want to! I'm happy with me and God only... everyone else can just be. It's only through HIM that I will be able to genuinely love and care about other people.
It was like a warning.
A warning to me.
A warning to share with
you.
"I had no idea," I journaled.
"LORD GOD, I know You forgive me! Help me to know this. Help me to KNOW that people can go to HELL for this!"
We then went to Matthew 7:21-23 (emphasis added), which says,
21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."
Iniquity.
"
Iniquity" in the last verse translates to lawlessness...
Lawlessness-- did you catch that? Lawlessness means, having none or adhering to no law. Without law. Not obeying
the commandments that were given to us by God Himself.
In the above verses, Jesus Christ is addressing the saints of God, those who are
in Christ. We know this from verse 22 because the people who were
crying out to God were the ones who professed Him as their Saviour: they prophesied
and cast out demons.
...God told THESE people,
the people who were supposedly "in Christ,"
to DEPART from Him!He told them to leave... they were sent to Hell!
Their gifts will be as filthy RAGS unto Him! (Holy Spirit gave me that one, just now 10/23/2009 @ 1:43 a.m.):
Isaiah 64:6 says (emphasis added),
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
You see that?
Iniquities. Again.
...This is for me.
...This is for you.
The Holy Spirit led me to a very familiar verse, which I don't quote hardly ever (Hallelujah to Jesus),
Philippians 4:13 says,
13I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
A WARNING FOR YOUR SOUL...AND THOU SHALT LOVE THE LORD THY GOD WITH ALL THY HEART, AND WITH ALL THY SOUL, AND WITH ALL THY STRENGTH: this is the first commandment.
And the second is like, namely this, THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR AS THYSELF. There is none other commandment greater than these.
MARK 12:30-31...In Jesus' name,
Whitney
