Christmas Snow Photos!

We got really nice snow on Christmas night, and this is what it looked like in the morning. Isn't it pretty? We stay in NC and although snow is not impossible, eight inches is rare!

This is one of my favorite trees in our yard. She is so beautiful year-round; her leaves when they change colors ... from green, to yellow, to red ... to snow! I love watching her, she is a great delight.

Working Willingly #3

Working Willingly Button

So, a blog friend from way back created this neat blogger-thing where we list our tasks for the day and get working on them! I love resurrecting old blog traditions, lol. Last time I had one of these was March 2009. Hehehehehe.

This is typically for work at home "moms," regular people working from home who want to keep busy and keep their home in order, as well as homeschooling moms.

So today I'm doing,
  1. Wash the dishes
  2. Start a load or two of clothes for more work-at-home gear :):) hehehe!
  3. Iron my day-clothes
  4. Dust my bookcases/bookshelves
Extras,
  1. Anoint my feet and paint toenails
  2. Wash my hair (tomorrow, lw)
  3. Errands at WM (lw, Thursday)
  4. Eat LUNCH! (yeah, this is work LOL)
  5. Write a very important post on a WAH opp.
Greatest!,

Reading ~ C.E. Orr

I am reading these free e-books on Amazon Kindle for PC and I am having such a lovely time. I began by typing these into Twitter, soon realizing most are too long for the 140 character limit, so I am transcribing them here. Consider this my little journey through these books. Like, a studying guide, per se. Typing them out helps me to realize them more and entices greater appreciation.

"How to Live a Holy Life" by C.E. Orr, this is one which peaked my interest. We should grow in our Lord in grace, amen. I will stay lowly and humble in our God. I do enjoy reading these [books] pleasurably. They are insurmountable regarding my hobbies and things that I partake in. I'm grateful that I am able to share in this. Most times I am just enamored by "the idea of reading" and "the idea of books." Like as in, a collector of books. A bibliophile. This is what I am proclaiming to be and have been since early this year. It's a pretty spiffy title. A book-gatherer. A sharer of thoughts, ideas and innovations. A good thing.

Too few, I fear, realize how important to our spiritual advancement is the cultivation of a taste for devotional reading. ~C.E. Orr

...those who have a taste for spiritual books and gratify that taste prosper in the Lord, while those who have no relish for such books labor at a great disadvantage. ~C.E. Orr

Spiritual reading invigorates the intellect, arms the affections, and begets in us a desire for more of God's fulness and for a more heavenly life. ~C.E. Orr
This here sentence has taken me for a loop. So very loaded with perfect things to sit upon. "Spiritual reading invigorates the intellect," AHH so very much so. Ohh it satisfies a deep thing within me. A deep spiritual thing within me, amen. YES, GOD is all I can say. Do you remember my post "Ugh" from August? That tiny phrase just written above is my full expression of the post "Ugh." Hmmm, spiritual reading ignites the senses, fulfills the minds wanderings and keeps us in tact. It's that godly mental stimulation that takes us to another level. That extra level that we need to remind of us our spiritual nature in Christ.
I really think speech is directly related to a higher knowledge, which is why I am so passionate about "all things holy" and "all things godly," speaking in tongues and intercession, Sign Language (ASL), all languages, reading and gaining a larger vocabulary. Everything is intertwined.

Holiness is the gateway to all of these perfect things. God will teach us a new language, He will give us a new word to sign, a word to speak in Hebrew and later reveal its meaning. Holiness is God's revelation to His people.

Photos

I'm in a photo-sharing mood!! Wahooo!! Here are some photos from the past few months.

These are the new eyeglasses I ordered. They have a green glare in 'em so I sent them back. They're really nice, no frame on the bottom and turquoise, and burgundy in color.

With my sis at the Smokie Norful and Israel & New Breed concert last month. Reaally nice, a great time.

Glory Day

Greetings,

Today is just one of those days. One of those days that makes you feel glad to be alive. Glad to know Jesus. Sincerest, I can only smile and relish in the glory days of our Lord.
God inspires his children to dream big about the future. Such inspiration comes from the Spirit who shows you what is to come (John 16:13). via Twitter
I was in my car just the other day and a song I hadn't heard in a while came upon the CD player. I tried not to weep in the car because everyone would see me in broad daylight crying behind the wheel. It was, "The Blood of Jesus." And I think, "God You are so right. So much could have happened to me. The reports on the news lately, all of the deadly happenings. Bless You GOD." I cry because I am protected. I cry because I know my God will not allow anything to happen to me. I cry because my total trust is in Him. His promise is embedded within me. Glory.

Glory.
Glory.

Quieting myself this day

Quieting myself this day. Grieve not the Holy Spirit: I'd be in a pile of tears from allowing oppression to come in. You have godly sorrow [worship and/or prayer] and then you have oppressive tears [hindrance/confusion].

When tension is in the house, you just want to break free. A stretchy substance that pulls you from right to left. A physiological happening begins in your body; a tightening. They almost want to bop you over the head for binding them. This is the image I got when I bound tension.

Lord God help us not grieve You [not handling things when they arise, not doing all that we need to do in You]. Keep us purified, washed through and through that we may hear from You.

Spirit-filled,
Whitney

"and God talked with him"

That's all I really want. Is for God to talk with me. With the season I'm in and the books I've been reading, and the shows I've come across, the name "God" has become so impersonal. I am glad that the true children of God know Him by His holy names, that way we can feel closer to Him and it truly does put things in perspective. People can blaspheme, abuse the name of "God" all they want, of course I do not approve, but I know Him through the fullness of His name. Amen.

The other evening I was reading my Bible, flipping through like I normally do and ended up at Genesis. I was glad I ended up at Genesis because I wasn't in a "psalms" or "proverbs," or even "new testament" mood.

Genesis 17:1-5,

1And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

2And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.

3And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,

4As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.

5Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

When I read verse 3, "And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying," I knew I had my next blog post. This is my life's desire. To worship GOD and have Him "talk with me." Sigh, it makes me smile ever so slightly and fills my entire being with joyfulness. The fullness of GOD my God. To have Him know you by name and even change your name to meet His holiness (see v. 5).

I knew I had found the core of my life in this very verse. All I have been saying for more than a year now: "I just want to love God." Loving Him is to worship Him and to worship Him is to obey His commands ("and be thou perfect," v. 1), and to delight in them.

I am so glad I got to blog this. Bless you all much this great day and this holiday season.

Best,
Whitney

Life 101: "Creating Happiness"

Great morning!!!

I love blogging so much I just thought I'd say that, so Lord's will, nothing will keep me from you guys and spending my time here blogging! I tweeted the other evening, "Just very happy and at ease." I love my mornings. Was able to get up at 8:45 a.m. this morning! Lord help me to rise early every day! Even though I am currently unemployed, I want to stay active and be every where I need to be when I need to be there! Bless God!

I have listed here my absolute favorites. I do all of these on the regular and they take me to a sweet place similar to worship, praise God! WARNING, some parts may be more for women than men so please caution before proceeding, thank you.

Rising early Waking early gives you a sense of unspoken happiness (maybe for you too, but for me it is a spoken happiness--I bless God each morning that I rise, amen!) Just great joy. We have heard throughout our lifetime people say that, "Oh, I'm not a morning person." Well, I hope you are not a night person, amen! Early morning air is so sweet! So pure, so indescribable. Rising early is a moment where time stands still, a moment where time is prolonged. The hours in the day are stretched, which means more time with God, more time to bask in His glory.

Light candles at sundown I do this on rare occasion because most times I have not considered it. It is a treat. Not just any candles, they must be scented, adding extra joy. Light just one makes for a modest happiness, while several is really indulging, lol! :) The time at which you light the candles depends upon your mood. At sundown could be a time of remembrance and early morning could symbolize an early blessing.

Scents Ok now this is a big one. While I hope that you practice each one, this is where you should probably begin. Fancy or non-fancy, this one is required, ok! Think, Airwick Scented Oils (plugins), scented candles as mentioned earlier, and hand lotion from like Bath & Body Works or something. Perfumes. Scents are a very bold statement. Get some plugins and put 'em in your room. This is what I have done and I can't stand not having them. Each time you walk into your room, you get a big glop of scented-greatness stimulating your nostrils.

Status Update #7, "A Season of Remembrance"

Good morning!,

Great day today, you guys. Hope you're all getting a great start on this day. Just popping in to give a short status update. It's been about two weeks since my last post, and a little longer since a substantial post. The Lord has shown me that right now I am in a season of remembrance, so I've been quiet.

Quiet trying to figure out what was going on right now, and now knowing, I came to share. July was a phenomenal month for me and God. Lots of wonderful journaling and time spent with Him, lots of special time and things revealed. All three of my books were born during that month, so that was incredibly monumental.

Exodus 13:21, A Thousand Words Thursday #11

The great things we find on Tumblr.
A glimpse of what Exodus 13:21 may have resembled,

Exodus 13:21

And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

Bless God for the image rendering capabilities used for Good. Our imagination exponentialized (yes, I just said "exponentialized.") Hehe.

Ugh

The worlds wisdom no longer makes sense to me, and the simple things no longer keep me. Are there any intellectuals? Are there any Spirit-driven folks? Anybody? The same old stuff I can learn on my own. Once we become elevated in the knowledge of Christ and all things holy, our mind takes on a shift. We are no longer stimulated by the things that used to entertain us. Some times now, they are even boring. To hear a pastor speak on milk is no longer appeasing. It is milk to us now. At the time it was meat. I need something higher than this thing that I've been seeing people talk about, on and on. Repetitive things. Extra things. I almost want to translate this into another language just to add some stimulation along the way. God, mercy, we need the Holy Spirit. O, O, O HOW DEEPLY I NEED YOU.

How do you encourage yourself?

The question is not, how do you keep on? Or, what do you have to live for, or why haven't you given up; because I know you're not going to give up. Why? Because you know too much. So. The question is, How do you encourage yourself?

I encourage myself by recounting the dreams and visions He has gave me. I encourage myself by remembering the events that occurred while I was considering the LORD. Like, the time I asked Him aloud how I could be close to Him-- my heart was distraught. I looked out my window that dark and quiet night, and saw one streak of lightning in the sky. I cried silently and went back to my room. And, the week I was anointed with the Holy Ghost. The audible voice of God that I heard that week. I said aloud, "Really?," asking God whenever I spoke aloud "to myself," was I really speaking to Him? and He answered through the voice of my sleeping Dad in the next room, "Yes, Really." I encourage myself because of the gift of tongues. Knowing that not all have been given this, and how earnestly we all want it deep down.

So again my question is.
How do you encourage yourself?

Keep me Father. Your strength is my own.

Your beloved,
Whitney

Visions of the Lord's Day

Good morning! I was GLAD when they said unto me, 'Let us Go into the house of the LORD!' How are you all this day? I made a vow to the tweets on Twitter that I would share online, the visions that the Lord gave me. This will be Good. This IS Good. This is Good because the Lord gave it to me and I feel so special that He did.

Here are the exact/very similar (in order to make it read well) words from my "dream journal," the very day that it happened. Please do not be put off too much by my use of the words "visions" and "dreams." I am not a prophetess (to my knowledge), but I am a woman of God. Who knows God and who hears from Him/can recognize His voice.

And these visions were so extravagant, and I was there. I felt like I was there. Like, smack-dab in the middle of it. Real-life "I was there." I am not well-versed in the terminology that saints use to describe "when they were IN the Spirit," so this is my best attempt to do so. God was able to develop the first dream/vision with me over time. Throughout my Bible studies with Him, I would be able to pick up on what related to the dream/vision and what was for that day.

Holiness and Snow-Capped Mountains

This photo made me think of "holiness." It's so lovely. Doesn't it look like holiness to you? ..If I had a vision of holiness, this would be it. The dainty and modest pink baby flowers in the fabric, the photo-locket which to me, represents the promises of God kept close. The single pearl. The gold eagle. The sweet key for the locket, and the pink flower emblem. Photo credit: http://www.flickr.com/photos/hollythedolly/4598130487/

And, I'm in a winter-type of mood and switched my Summer bg over to this one, a snowy-ice capped mountain bg. This one kind of reminds me of the vision God gave me maybe one month ago. It was extravagant. High, snow-capped mountains, a very deep blue, with snow mounds just as high, clouds below, and me looking over! Three eagles were flying east, in a triangular shape, with one leading. It was extremely beautiful. I'll never forget that vision. It was so pleasant and hopeful. Great things in store. Photo credit: http://www.kilam-malik.net/text_ray_terragen.html

Yesterday evening I was listening to Amy Grant's, "Count your Blessings" and I began to say aloud, "I am thankful for My God and my salvation." Today I am adding to the list, "My integrity and God's holiness."

Bless You Jesus,
Whitney

Lesson: Power-struggles

There are stinky power-struggles going on in the Church, whose trigger words include: One Body, many gifts, schism and leadership. Put all of those key words together and you get something like: "Saints who hold their God-given gifts superiorly on top of others." ~WDJ. For example, "You're small, and I'm not." Now, this is the ministry of the SAINTS. This should not be happening in the BODY :(

"There must be balance, saints. The humble man who has Almighty Power." ~WDJ

"That child-like faith that transpires into mountains being moved, miracles occurring-- all under the authority of God." ~WDJ

Matthew 10:24-25,
24The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. 25It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?

The above scripture verse is telling us that, only in a house of Devils is the disciple above his master and a servant above his lord. We are One unit. There are many gifts in the Body, as scripture informs us [I Corinthians 12:10, 28].

I may have the gift of tongues, and you the gift of prophecy-- we are both Christ-certified. You are not MY leader, you are only my Friend. GOD Almighty is my leader, My Friend, and He works through you AND me. Even so, yes we are to desire to prophesy, because God says we should [I Corinthians 14:39].

Life 101: From Milk to Meat

Hebrews 5:13-14 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Daily Bread

Experiencing God, and staying close. This is where my heart is-- with God. Enveloped in God, deep in His Spirit. I want to stay there and never leave ♥♥ DAILY bread. Daily manna; keep us there dear God.

I like to fall asleep after reading my Word. So peaceful to fall asleep at the hand of your Bible. I love its smell. I sometimes place it under my pillow. You are my serenity Jesus. You are my peace of MIND. My anxiety subsides because of You. You are my soft place to drape myself upon. I lay at Your feet.

All Talk and no Word

I hope we all know where this leads us. These short and pithy lines are what I was inspired to tweet yesterday night. I shared this with the folks on Twitter.

All talk and no Word, is stealing God's time. You're on His clock. All talk and no Word, starves you of your deliverance. All talk and no Word, deprives you of your breakthrough. All talk and no Word, will keep you from what God wants to bless you with. All talk and no Word, will keep you hungry for attention. All talk and no Word, will probably make you fall into sin.

Best,
Whitney

Is this milk, or meat?
What do you think?

I think there is a line in there for every person. I could "flesh" this out some, but I'm thinking it is easily explanatory as a stand-alone. Surely I could offer some biblical references.

I was telling a gal on Twitter the other evening that I desire to be [will be] spirit-led in all things. So, before I am to post anything to my devotional Twitter or my devotional blog, I want to be sure that it's not just me talking, but instead what God desires for His people to know and experience for themselves.

And it is so.
