The Birth of my Son

Hi guys!,

I hope that everyone has gotten the memo: I have moved to Wordpress at http://danielandwhitney.wordpress.com. I love this blog so much, that I do not want to leave it. The Lord has allowed me to inspire and encourage so many people on here, that it is amazing. I am so glad to know all of you. I cannot commit to blogging on here as much, as this was for the LORD. I do not want to include too many personal posts on here. I will come back every now and then, Lord willing to update you on my family and family-life. The Lord has been so good to us.

My son was born on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 5:43 am at 8lbs 1oz and 20 inches long. I am so amazed that I have a son now. It's our first child and we are so in love. He is a joy to watch, the way his eyes move around the room and how he smiles in his sleep. The Lord is good, he is almost 3 weeks old today. Be blessed, family.

Good morning friends of mine!

Baking cookies and enjoying Jesus! The LORD is blessing so much, my friends. Today is my 25th birth-day and I am spending it with my new beloved.

The secret is out now, and I am engaged. We have been engaged for 12 days now, it's so new!! My groom's name is Daniel and he is the light of my life next to Jesus. He loves me with a sweet affection that never fades. His heart is so tender toward me and I love being in his glory.

So glad to announce my engagement to you all! This is a very exciting time in my life and I am so abundantly blessed! Not only are we set to marry next year, Lord willing, but my first baby niece is coming in TWO-WEEKS!

Courtship: A Deeper Connection

What I've found along the Way that lines up with my intentions and purpose concerning courtship and marriage:

All are excerpts from this article I'm reading: http://www.boundless.org/2005/answers/a0002415.cfm by John Thomas of Boundless.org.

To love is not to share all the same interests, but it is to value those the other person has.

If marriage is anything, it is a deep-level connection. ... Connecting at deeper levels develops over time as trust grows and as an individual feels they are in a safe place to share at that level.

Enjoying one another’s company is a great starting place for any relationship and obviously a requirement, but we can only talk about the weather for so long.

Conversations that touch at the level of emotions, ranging from joy to pain, are the ones that create heart connection.

Remember what you’re doing: First, you’re trying to discern whether you’re in unity on core values and second, whether you can connect at the level of emotions.

bask

Today was one of the best days [to be, and enjoy] outdoors. I was able to lounge in the sun with sweet lemonade iced tea, my iPod and a great book. WONDERFUL GOD! It was just what I needed. So perfect.

I even got to do some journaling.

Was watching this video series on YouTube called,

BIBLICAL HEBREW LANGUAGE - PART 2

Really great teaching, by the way. Gonna finish it up soon [the series] , LORD willing.

Near the end of part two, I instinctively put my head down in my palm and said "Doh!" As in, "DUH! lol, that's so easy!" So simple-- no one can figure it out.

And, me and my heart for sign language, looked up the sign for "dumb" on www.signingsavvy.com, and there ya have it-- the sign for "dumb" is similar to the one I naturally signed after watching part two of the teaching lesson above!

And, have you seen 5:15 - 6:35 of the video? I made a comment on YouTube, something like "LORD, how I adore You, wowwwwww. I'm dumb-stricken."

BOOKS

Grateful for this day. SO glad on this day. Thanking God for this DAY.

Mornings make me smile just as much as Sunday afternoons. I've considered the previous blog post and I wanted to make sure I clarified what I was feeling at that time (and still feel frequently).

I wasn't going to, because I thought, "Why should I have to clarify? It's my blog." lol :( But, then I realized that what I meant may have gotten lost in the words I typed.

I live with my parents. Now, re-read that blog post with that in mind. LOL :X haha. I love them, truly I do. Yet, I need my own space. I need my own space. I have my room, the one I grew up in. And, I love it. It's tiny, but it's sooo full of my personality and that's what I adore.

Here's a part of my joy:

My growing, multi-faceted book collection. This past winter I've dubbed myself a self-proclaimed "bibliophile," a collector and connoisseur of books :) Haha. I'm a beginner/novice, however! Hehe. Every other week I'm grabbing a new book on Amazon.com. The last one I purchased was on euphemisms, called In Other Words by Dominique Enright. I've learned so much from that. Beforehand I had learned that words like "Gosh," "Jeez/Geez," and "Darn/Dang" were all euphemisms for ungodly words. Gosh [╪ God] and Jeez/Geez [╪ Jesus] are blasphemies. And of course Darn/Dang is a euphemism for DAMN. So, this book has those euphemisms in them as well as some new ones I never imagined would be blasphemies: Jimminy Cricket and Jeepers Creepers [both ╪ Jesus Christ] . Wild, huh?

And, the book before that which I purchased as well, Dictionary of Angels: Including the Fallen Angels by Gustav Davidson is grrreat. I love it! Such an extensive resource. And, accurate. I'm always looking up angels :) One I've found fascinating, is Lilith. She's deemed to be a "bad angel," or fallen angel/demon spirit, if I may say. She's the [fallen] angel of Friday, who entices lust and ungodly thoughts/behaviors in individuals.

I've always discerned that something was up with Fridays, and have never enjoyed them. There's always a dark spiritual atmosphere/presence on Friday nights. I really hate it. But, then again I'm thankful because every Friday I feel a longing within me for God and His spirit. Like, even though it's "dark" out, I know God's Spirit is with me, \o/ So, a doubled-edged sword there. I'm glad I grabbed this book, lots to praise God for!!

PRE-SPRING!

"Teaching" the Kingdom of God

Language.

That word; that one word.

The Spirit of God manifest within the heavenly language of speaking in tongues, the tongue of various nations; tribes and cultures... sign language. In every sense of the word.

Our world is not just this here America that we live in.

Our world and mission as children of GOD, is this world here and outside of the U.S. Think Africa, Japan, China, France, Germany.

Think.
How many people no not of Christ?

I'm not saying to go travel the world and preach the Kingdom of God (bless you if you can, but most of us cannot, nor is it our ministry in Christ to physically GO [see Matthew 28:19, Luke 4:43]). You don't even have to leave your home (Twitter, blogging), unless the Holy Spirit tells you that you must. Always listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit; LORD Jesus help us to do this.

Imagine the Gospel of Christ being ministered in different languages. How amazing is that; the thought? How amazing is that thought?! So amazing.

Selah.

Matthew 28:19

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Sweet Melody

Modestly singing, praising and being the midst of a holy God's presence, I was just listening to this song on Blip.fm. My eyes became glossy with tears.

I remember this song from throughout summertime 2009. First time I heard it. So light, humble and modest. I thank God for humble saints. My prayer lately has been to have a more contrite spirit and to loose the pride that I tend to cling onto... it's a very light sense of pride, but heavy enough to weigh me down-- it must to go. If it's not like You LORD, take it away in JESUS' name.

"Holy, Holy is the LORD Almighty," That melody gets me every time. Such a soft and sweet noise. I feel the anointing in my spirit when it sounds. The aroma of holiness is so sweet. I love You, Jesus... with my whole heart. I want Your ways, always. Within me. Throughout me. Manifested in me. Deep within me, pouring forth good fruit.

Exodus 15:11 says
"Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?"

Since September 28, 2009, God has assured, encouraged and equipped me with:

II Peter 3:13-14, which says
13Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
This scripture places songs of HALLELUJAH/SHEKINAH GLORY praise in my heart and in my spirit! God is saying that BECAUSE we look for, aspire to, have faith in and anticipate a glorious life with Him at His second coming... BECAUSE we look for these things, we need to be diligent, prayerful, vigilant, that at on that faithful Day of Judgment, that we are found blameless, clothed in holiness, righteousness and rightness before our Savior.

II Peter 3:13: An assurance.

II Peter 3:14: God is saying that we need to make an effort here and now, while we are still on this earth, to seek peace, pursue peace-- living peaceably with all men (see Romans 12:18)-- not being prideful, puffed up or full of self-righteousness. It's like a command; a reminder of what we need to do and how we must behave as saints of GOD.

...I do thank You LORD, for the things You have revealed unto me through Your Holy Word. I ask GOD, in Jesus' name, that you search my heart O God and renew a RIGHT spirit within me. Remove everything within me that is not like You. Take it away, and implant Your precious spirit forevermore overflowing with peace, righteousness, holiness and humility. I will seek Your face.

This is my prayer.

New Look!

Is it Fall yet?

lol. I adore this new background. It's by far the boldest look we've had so far. I think I can live with it, how about you? I really do like it. We had the orange and blue background for 5 months...... 5 months! I fell in love with that one and I will miss it. But, as the seasons change, so must we.

This new background is not from our normal distributor, The Cutest Blog on the Block. THIS one is from Hot Bliggity Blog. They have some GORGEOUS... and I mean GORGEOUS backgrounds and I'm so glad I found them through Google.

Very VERY happy!,

Ready for Fall!

So, right now I'm baking cookies.

Not just ANY cookies, THESE cookies are by Pillsbury...
but, not only that, they're called "Pillsbury Simply Cookies."

UHHMMM.

I'm a Media Studies graduate and this packaging completely and utterly appeals to me. I absolutely adore it. It's just as the title says "Simple(ly)." How yummy. Such a simple design and layout and ohhh how I love the ellipsis at the end, (the dot, dot, dot ...) and the white packaging. This stuff matters. I actually bought these cookies because the packaging itself looks so yummy! LOL.

Ready for Fall
Baking and shopping are such usual activities, but around this time baking and shopping make me think of the fall weather and the seasons changing. It's a new time of year, literally a new season. Season of life, season as it relates to my walk with Christ-- EVERYTHING.

...and, the holidays! Yes, Thanksgiving and Christmas! Ohhh the smile on my face. The food, family time and all that joy; I love it. Hmm, and if these cookies are what I hope them to be, they'll be a lot of baking going on too!

Teaching Biblical Studies?!

I'm smiling... smiling from ear to ear. I've finally made the effort to seek out potential employers and finally pursue the career I've been talking about for months. I don't necessarily want to be a teacher, but it will definitely be a great starting point for a recent college graduate with my degree in Religious Studies. I Googled Christian schools and private academy's in my area where I could possibly begin substitute teaching.

How cool is that? I found three schools in the surrounding area that I will, Lord willing, submit an application to in the next week! I'm so excited because the applications are not as strenuous as some and this could be a promising career for a while and it'll look so good on my resume! Not to mention what a great opportunity it will be...

...teaching middle school and/or high school students at a biblical school... I've been wanting to do this for so long it seems. Every time someone asked me what I wanted to do with my life, that's what I'd say... or, similar to what I'd say... "I want to be a counselor at a Christian college..." Well, maybe we're not at that level yet, but we're at a GREAT starting point!!

Lord have mercy. Pray for me and my application process and my self-discipline to actually begin the application process at these Christian schools! This is such a great opportunity I cannot pass it up, even if I wanted to!!

Glory,
Whitney

Reconnecting

To know God is to know life.
To miss God is to miss your soul.

I just want to be right with God, always. I hate looking back, I hate disobedience. I hate being in this fleshly body at times, when all it wants to do is go against God's precious will.

I couldn't run from God if I tried.

I'm just hoping to stay back on track. Backsliding is never fun... well, it can be fun but only for a moment. And, as the Bible tells us, enjoying the pleasures for a season are not great gain. Something to that extent.

I love my God so much. My soul loves Jesus. My heart cannot deny the new life that He has given me which instructs me to live as though. There is no good thing within me.

The time is now.

There's a peace about God that is unmistakable.
People can't make you happy. And if they do, they can't keep you happy. God gives tangible joy... joy overflowing. That's what I want, have and hope to never lose... and, hope to never give away or give up.

Jesus I want to live for you now and always.

Help my impatience.
Help my ungratefulness.
Help my disobedience.

Keep me God.
Keep me pure.
Keep me holy.
Keep my heart.

I'm in this thing for life, God. My heart is committed to You.

In Jesus' name. Amen.

12 Hours of Church

@Church (Service & New Members Class)
10:45 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Never in my life have I spent 12 hours at church! Never would I have imagined! It was crazy-fun. I did say a few days ago that if I could spend all day at church, I would. Today I got a glimpse of what that'd be like and the power of speaking things into existence.

I love the church people. Shared interest, special moments and joyful times. First time in my life where I'm actually attending church regularly AND going to Bible Study regularly, and about to get involved in ministry. It's great. Our God is Great.

I went to the 10:45 a.m. service for the first time at my new church home. Admittedly, I prefer the 8 a.m. service. But, because my last session of the New Members class was directly after the 10:45 service, I went to that one. Service was great as always. Pastor Nichols was preaching about man's promises vs. God's purpose; contractional relationships vs. covenant. He was saying how we must disconnect ourselves from man's promises in order to get to God's purpose. We cannot get to purpose unless we let broken promises go. Broken promises cause a broken heart and a broken spirit. The promises of God are designed to fulfill purpose.

After church was my last session of the New Members class. The teaching was on Servitude 200. I'm really interested in getting involved in ministry immediately. I just want to be assured that I am in the right place. Right now I'm considering the Women's Fellowship Group and Evangelism. Also the Prayer Warrior's who meet at 6 a.m. every morning.

@The Bus Ride to Winston-Salem, NC
3 p.m. - 5 p.m., 8 p.m. - 10 p.m.
The bus ride was fun. I got to meet some new faces and spend casual time with my new church family. I plan on going everywhere with the church, lol :) Lord willing.

@Sweet Holy Spirit Church in Winston-Salem, NC
5 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
The Holy Spirit truly was upon this church during the praise break. It was great, it was beautiful. Pastor Nichols was the guest speaker here and that's why we (members of the church) traveled to Winston Salem to support him. The message was "If God doesn't do it, it won't be done." He was telling us to stop being victims of everyone else's failures and just realize that they are incapable of meeting our needs. It's not our fault, it's their failure. We must realize that the reason they are attacking us (hating on, etc) is because they want what we have. We have the spirit of God and they see that in you and that's why they do not approve of you. When people are controlled by wicked spirits, they hate you without a cause... it's the anointing and the favor of God that they hate. Jesus.

After church we stopped at Popeye's for dinner, so that added a little extra time on our ride back. I had a great time and hope to spend more time with the church.

This Sunday is Dress-Down Sunday. I love the concept.
I've never been to an official Dress-Down day. It'll be great.

Look at my new church leaders. I love 'em.

Love you with the love of Christ.
God bless you,
Whitney

"Pastor sure can preach."

Ministry

I'm sure you've heard that phrase before. I'm smiling even as I glance at the title. My new church home is where I'm glad to be every day of the week. I'm sure there's something going on every day, but since joining last Sunday I've been to 8 a.m. church service, a volunteer meeting and Bible study. If I could live at church I would. Just church. Any of the churches I've visited in the past year... I could just dwell there. That's why it's so important to be involved in church services and activities. When we get involved we have a place in the church, a sense of belonging and worth; it's where we are operating in our gifts and participating in ministry. Our identity is in Jesus Christ, from whom all blessings come, but our ministry is our gift from God, offered up to God, where our blessings and inheritance stem from. For a long time I didn't participate in any ministry within the church because I hadn't a clue where the Lord wanted to activate my gifts, so I just sat on the sidelines; I didn't want to be out of place-- or worse, in the wrong place/ministry [for me]. Some of it was procrastination too, so Lord forgive me. But now I have direction. Well, I've always had direction, for the Lord tells us to acknowledge Him in ALL of our ways, and HE will direct our paths (emphasis added) [See Proverbs 3:6]. Glory to God. But, I mean "direction" in the sense of belonging to the "right" church in terms of where the Lord wants me to be. Again, that's why it's so important to seek God, listen and wait on HIM to tell you where you need to be [as far as a church home, ministry, where to live, etc]. Trust in Him and He will take care of you. I'm a living witness.

Now, back to "Pastor sure can preach."

Lol. I love Pastor Nichols. He always tells it like it is-- I know, I talk like I've been attending the church for a long time, but the Spirit of the Lord allows me to feel as though I've known Him forever... because we're all brothers and sisters in Christ and the Spirit of the Lord recognizes those that are His [Christ's]. There's nothing like true and sound doctrine. I love it and the body of Christ needs it. I thank God for my Shepherd and I pray that the Lord Jesus keeps him in perfect peace, grants him the confidence to carry out His [God's] will and gives him endurance and strength for the long haul. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

On Sunday morning Pastor spoke on expectations. The message was "Don't lose hope." Psalm 146 was the passage and he was discussing covenant vs. contractional relationships. Here are a few quotes from the sermon and Bible Study to the Saints of God, since the messages were intertwined. Brackets added by me for clarification and additional depth. All glory to our Father which art in Heaven.
  • "When the world is turned upside down [in turmoil, heartache and uneasiness], you know that you [Child of God,] have Jesus Christ and His righteousness."
  • "Human love [relationships] fails because it is imperfect [and oftentimes not God-ordained]."
  • "The world cannot curse [undo] that which is blessed [by God, Saints]."
  • "The only way people [the world] can get this [mood-changing, emotional] power [over us] is if we give it to them."
  • "Don't lower your expectations [of people], shift them [to God because He will never disappoint, leave or forsake you]. "My expectation is in God."
He also discussed relegating vs. elevating.
  1. Relegate means to deduce in importance. The only way to relegate, as Pastor said, is to dwell on the past. Dwelling in the past delays the future. [Glory, glory this is good and very true. I'm a witness].
  2. Elevate means to go higher [in the Lord]. We must elevate our minds. Our body accomodates our mind; wherever your mind goes, your body will follow also. [What's that scripture? "Whatever a man thinketh in his heart, so shall he be."] Elevate your mind from the flesh to the spirit; meaning think and meditate on the good things of our God [spiritual] and leave that which is fleshly [carnal] behind. [If you do this, your body will follow your mind-- your actions will follow your thoughts... Selah!]
Scriptures to read in your Bibles:
Psalm 146
Psalm 1:2
Luke 4:18
Hebrews 11

New Blog

LOL, I know, I know. I already have two blogs! But, blogging is a big hobby of mine. I have created a super-leisurely and simple one called "Grab My Button." If you've been around the blogging community, you know that most blogs have buttons up for grabs to advertise their blogs.

An example of this would be
my button:

Here's the new blog:

I'm on Twitter too:

I'm excited about this blog too. It's going to be fun. I've always wanted to grab every button I see. I'm so fascinated by them! Hehe ;) So, if you have a button you want featured on the blog, drop me a line or two!

New Church Home

Hey everyone,

I'm extremely sleepy so I won't be blogging much tonight. But, I did want to let you know that the Lord has blessed me with a new church home. I might blog more about it later, but I did want to give a praise report on how the Lord has been working in my life. For months I have been "floating," if you will, from church to church-- my childhood church to a church 30 mins from my house, etc. Today the Lord blessed me with a new church home. I had seen Pastor Nichols preach before at the church that's too far from my home. He was visiting one evening for the church conference. I didn't know the church was having a conference, nor did I know who Pastor Nicols was. I was just showing up for regular Bible Study. Little did I know that this man of God would become my new pastor. I'm so grateful. The Lord has truly anointed him for servitude and is doing a magnificent work in his spiritual relationship with God. I'm really grateful and will be blogging more about my new church home soon ;)

God bless you,
Whitney
