Status Update #7, "A Season of Remembrance"

Good morning!,

Great day today, you guys. Hope you're all getting a great start on this day. Just popping in to give a short status update. It's been about two weeks since my last post, and a little longer since a substantial post. The Lord has shown me that right now I am in a season of remembrance, so I've been quiet.

Quiet trying to figure out what was going on right now, and now knowing, I came to share. July was a phenomenal month for me and God. Lots of wonderful journaling and time spent with Him, lots of special time and things revealed. All three of my books were born during that month, so that was incredibly monumental.

Status Update #6

BOOKS

Grateful for this day. SO glad on this day. Thanking God for this DAY.

Mornings make me smile just as much as Sunday afternoons. I've considered the previous blog post and I wanted to make sure I clarified what I was feeling at that time (and still feel frequently).

I wasn't going to, because I thought, "Why should I have to clarify? It's my blog." lol :( But, then I realized that what I meant may have gotten lost in the words I typed.

I live with my parents. Now, re-read that blog post with that in mind. LOL :X haha. I love them, truly I do. Yet, I need my own space. I need my own space. I have my room, the one I grew up in. And, I love it. It's tiny, but it's sooo full of my personality and that's what I adore.

Here's a part of my joy:

My growing, multi-faceted book collection. This past winter I've dubbed myself a self-proclaimed "bibliophile," a collector and connoisseur of books :) Haha. I'm a beginner/novice, however! Hehe. Every other week I'm grabbing a new book on Amazon.com. The last one I purchased was on euphemisms, called In Other Words by Dominique Enright. I've learned so much from that. Beforehand I had learned that words like "Gosh," "Jeez/Geez," and "Darn/Dang" were all euphemisms for ungodly words. Gosh [╪ God] and Jeez/Geez [╪ Jesus] are blasphemies. And of course Darn/Dang is a euphemism for DAMN. So, this book has those euphemisms in them as well as some new ones I never imagined would be blasphemies: Jimminy Cricket and Jeepers Creepers [both ╪ Jesus Christ] . Wild, huh?

And, the book before that which I purchased as well, Dictionary of Angels: Including the Fallen Angels by Gustav Davidson is grrreat. I love it! Such an extensive resource. And, accurate. I'm always looking up angels :) One I've found fascinating, is Lilith. She's deemed to be a "bad angel," or fallen angel/demon spirit, if I may say. She's the [fallen] angel of Friday, who entices lust and ungodly thoughts/behaviors in individuals.

I've always discerned that something was up with Fridays, and have never enjoyed them. There's always a dark spiritual atmosphere/presence on Friday nights. I really hate it. But, then again I'm thankful because every Friday I feel a longing within me for God and His spirit. Like, even though it's "dark" out, I know God's Spirit is with me, \o/ So, a doubled-edged sword there. I'm glad I grabbed this book, lots to praise God for!!

PRE-SPRING!

"Fireside" Thanksgiving

Went out with mom and sis this evening and I had my eyes set on Bath & Body Works. lol. I was interested in purchasing the Fall scents [Pecan Pie, etc] and any other similar items that may have been on discount. They didn't have those. Bummer.

Soooo, browsed around and found "Fireside" by Slatkin & Co. Phenomenal scent! Pick this up next time you're in there! I also bought "Gingerbread" scented lotion, which smells JUST like Pecan Pie Fall scent from last year! They totally just re-packaged it and gave it a new name, lol.

Anywho. I signed up for Bath & Body Works text messages a while back and received one the other day: spend $25, get 20% off entire purchase, until 12/14. YAHOO!! I did this deal and I'm so happy I did... love my Gingerbread lotion and Fireside candle!

Here is the family for this years Thanksgiving [Ctrl + click to see larger photo!];

Status Update #5: Seasons

Ecclesiastes 3:8-9, emphasis added,

1To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

2A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

3A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

4A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

5A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

6A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

7A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

8A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

This is where I am right now, saints. A new season in my life on this journey with Christ. And, I'm happy. I'm glad, I'm content. I'm JOYFUL... I'm at ease, at peace. AND, I thank God.

I'm very glad where I am right now in-Christ. Sooo grateful. A time of silence, a time of peace (see Ephesians 3:7-8). How lovely. Just pondering on Jesus day by day. Spending time with Him. Relishing our joy, our time and enjoying our sanctuary that we have built here at home.

HALLELUJAH!!
JOYFUL NOISE!

10 Days

This is by far the longest I've gone without blogging. 10 days... wow. That's pretty crazy, huh? Funny how it only takes a few seconds or minutes to compose a blog post, yet I've gone this long without doing so.

Lately I've just been trying to maintain my personal relationship with Christ. I want to be in a position to hear from Him, and I've just been trying to get back on track and not forget where I came from (spiritually). Also, I want to continue working on my book that the Lord will be having me release in the near future. It'll be a testimony of my trial through the wilderness this past month. It'll be good because it's a testimony of the Lord in my life, and it's real. Those are the best kind of books.

So, I look forward to blogging more this week and keeping all those interested, updated on my endeavors. As well as blogging for my personal growth. I had a meeting with Pastor Nichols yesterday that went fine. I was under the impression that I would be meeting with him one-on-one, but there ended up being about 18 other people there. So, that was mildly disappointing.

Nevertheless, tomorrow evening Pastor and First Lady Grace are holding a singles seminar, based upon their new book entitled "No More Drama." It is available at most Wal-Mart stores and can be ordered online, I'm sure. The meeting with them on Friday will be good and I'm looking forward to it. It's important that I feed this aspect of my life, as I've been having countless thoughts about it lately and the idea of marriage. Happy in the Lord, will I be, as I am. I ask God that I long not for the things in which He hasn't blessed me with yet. I have expectations in God that I will one day be married, but it will not consume my thoughts. If it does, I won't be in a position thats spiritually healthy because it'll be all I think about, and all I'm chasing after. Not so.

Be blessed in the Lord.
I love you with the love of Christ,

Whitney

Status Update #4

Accountability

I talked to my Godmother this evening. She called me; I was all smiles. I love her. I haven't talked to her since I spent an evening over at her house last month. I went to stay with her because I was having issues at my home; I live with my parents. She was very kind to me and allowed me to stay with her. I wanted to move in with her! That's how serious the problem was at my house! Haha, but I'm over it. I'm learning toleration and patience. I cannot always run when things are not going so well.

But anywho, she said she would be my accountability partner!! When she said that, I was so happy! I've been wanting one of these for so long, I just never knew who to ask. But, come to find out, she asks me. So, praise God! Do you remember the post I wrote a while ago called Lord, help? Well, this here is the answer to my prayer. Glory to God.

Accountability is so important in the lives of God's people, in the lives of growing Christians. We must have someone to tell our issues to, someone to confess our faults to, as the Book of James instructs. It's all about holiness and staying pure before our God. If you don't have an accountability partner, no matter your age-- ask a trusted member of the church, or if your parents are saved, ask them to keep you accountable. Married couples have one another as accountability partners.

My Godmother said she'd keep me accountable for praying and reading my Bible daily. And, I asked her what her weaknesses in Christ were, and she told me that she's dealing with anxiety, and how she needs to have more joy in the Lord in the sense of slowing down a little and laughing, enjoying life.

So, it'll be good. I'm grateful. I'm also going to go to some of her Bible study groups, beginning May 5th, which meet every Thursday, sometimes on Tuesdays. God is good to me! Thank You, Jesus.

Working Girl

Tomorrow is my first day of work at my new job! I'm excited. It's crazy because this job is a new job because I haven't worked in so long, but then again it's not a new job because... I've worked there before. Yep, my "new job" is my "old job;" my FIRST job... the first job I ever had when I was 16. Can you believe that? Sometimes I think it's pretty sad, but then again I see it as someone doing me a favor and looking out for me in these bad economical times. I'm grateful and I cannot complain. I finally get a paycheck! So, all is well :) :) Pray my strength!

Gardening. New Hobby!

So, my mom and I began our greatly anticipated garden last week! It's so quaint and cute. I'm loving it. From recollection, we have beets, onions, peas, beans, squash, cabbage, lettuce and a few others. We're waiting until around Mother's Day to plant the tomatoes, since that's the presumed best climate for them to grow successfully in.

We went to Lowe's for supplies and here's
one of the pretty pink and green potted plants
I saw! had to snap a picture :)

Looks delightful, but we skipped out on these
and got the Iceberg lettuce.

Recent photo of me at Lowe's. Haha, couldn't
resist. Getting my hair done today too! Can't
wait, I'll try to post a picture under this one
tonight possibly.

Heart Matters/"A Thousand Words Thursday"

There have been several things on my heart lately. Of course number one would be the friendship ordeal, as I blogged about this the other day. Scroll down and you'll see the post.

There are so many things that God has revealed unto me since I got saved (praise God, glory) that are not of Him, NOT of His Spirit-- meaning, you cannot put God in it nor can you conform it to fit into a godly mold-- yet, I don't blog about them all.

Cheaper Than Therapy

I reflect more than anything. For one, Yoga is not of God. The word means "to yoke" --it's a form of worship. God forbid. Hip Hop/Rap & R&B are not of God; no explanation needed. Gossip is ultimately dangerous as are the previous other awful mentions. And don't forget about Easter. What a false holiday. Eggs and bunnies have nothing to do with the resurrection of Christ. The word "Easter" is only mentioned in the Bible once and scholars proclaim that it's a mistranslation. The traditions of men are vain. Religion in the sense of "the customs of man" is pompous. Just celebrate Jesus. What's with the bunny?? I live the life I blog about because it's important to avoid coming across as a hypocrite and even more importantly to walk the talk. GOD have mercy on your people. It just disgusts me to even think about it all, let alone spend time writing about it... bleh.

God bless you and I pray that your eyes are awakened to truth or will soon be, in Jesus' name. Mark 1:14-15.

I'm hungry, how's about some messy cherry pie?

Mark 1:14-15,
Whitney

P.S. I don't typically blow hot air-- read about some of the things I talked about in this post by going to the Word:

Jeremiah 10:1-5
[Christmas is not of God/Traditions of man]

Matthew 6:4, Luke 16:13
[Can't serve two masters. Yoga or Jesus Christ?]

Colossians 2:8
[Vain philosophy of men not after the ways of Christ]

2 Corinthians 5:17
[New creature in Christ, can't mix light with darkness/good with evil-- Hip Hop, Rap, R&B]

Matthew 10: 26
[All darkness will be made known]

Snippets

  • I just finished up my "Working Willingly" tasks today. I love accountability, it's such a beautiful concept-- a concept that could have only been designed by our Lord. Glory to God.
  • I've been working diligently on the brand new Mystery Shopping Blog. Be sure to join us: http://mysteryshoppersuniteblog.blogspot.com. If you're not a mystery shopper and want to be one, you can learn how to become one.
  • I plan on going biking today. The weather-man said it's supposed to be 60 degrees. I feel like a nap, but a quick ride around the neighborhood will be refreshing! I cannot wait for spring & summer!! ;)
  • I meant to tell you that I have since given up Coca-Colas. I used to love those things, but not anymore. Also, ALL caffeine and cafinated beverages (coffee, tea) I've quit. Just caffeine-free and decaf or nothing :)
  • Bible study is at 7:30 tonight. This is the first time I'm going to try and go to Bible Study at this church. It's 30 minutes to and from, so it seems like a chore. But, I know it'll be worth the drive.

Leisurely To-Do List (ABC Order):

  • Buy a rocking chair for my room (man, I have been looking for a good rocking chair since summer time of last year! I checked Roses, Cracker Barrel, and even a furniture shop in the country... *sigh!* I need my perfect rocking chair! :(]
  • Sign up for a library card
  • Watch G. Craige Lewis videos again

Breakfast

Made some omelets today-- my favorite breakfast food! I'm a breakfast food junky. It's my absolute favorite meal of the day. I have labeled this post as "cooking" because baking deals with you know, treats and sweet-stuff :) Enjoy.

I also made some chicken fajitas yesterday that I ate for dinner and I'm eating for lunch right now! lol. Good stuff; I didn't take pictures of those.

Couponing at Wal-Mart

I had a wonderful time at Wal-Mart yesterday!!

YIPPIEEE. I love it, lol!

Reminiscing

I was just thinking today how much I miss college life. Well, not all of it. Particularly, the jobs that I held on campus. I used to work as copy editor of the campus paper and at the radio station. WZMB 91.3 FM Greenville. Now, THAT was a fun job! *big smiles* The only bad part about it was the fact that I had to wake up at 9 a.m. and head to the radio station. I got to play whatever I wanted on the air-- so fun. I played nothing but Gospel & Christian music the third day I was on the job... Tye Tribbet, the Clark Sisters, Donald Lawrence & The Tri-City Singers-- these were some of the amazing artists that I played on air. I'm smiling now, hehe.

I remember that switchboard, the mic and the headphones... Man, what a fun job. Who wouldn't want to sit on their behind all day, taking listener-requests, chatting on air and listening to music all day?? This was fun for me while in school, but I honestly couldn't have it as a 9-5 job. I feel like I would get bored and have to quit or something... LOL. But, really. Music is my life, GOSPEL music that is-- ONLY Kingdom music. It's all I've listened to since I began living for Christ. I love it. Since I'm reminiscing here, check out a pic I took of myself in the DJ Booth a few months ago... hehe.

Later,

Mark 1:14-15.

Status Update #1

Hi everyone :) I hope everyone is doing well. This is the first “Status Update.” I’ll use these whenever I haven’t blogged in a little while, to catch you up with all that has been going on.

Thank You, Lord

I feel like I’ve been MIA (Missing in Action) from howdeeplyineedyou—time apart from this blog I cannot bear... :-\ yeah, dramatic I know, but...I do love this blog. I really do see it as a ministry tool for sharing the gospel of Christ through the things He shows me, speaks to me and teaches me; it's like a Testimony. This entire blog is a Testimony of the beautiful sovereignty of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ--in every way. So I graciously thank God for choosing me to undertake such a delightful, yet precious responsibility. He’s awesome and worthy of all of the praise.

God Speaks

It’s been wonderful lately around my way. I hope things are well with you. God has been speaking so abundantly too. I just love it; it makes me smile from ear to ear. Yesterday evening my dear mother and I had an overwhelmingly great conversation that lasted hours—I didn’t even track the time, but I know we were still chatting by the time 11 p.m. rolled around. We talked about “the deep things of God” [see I Corinthians 2:9-12]. She shared some testimonies with me that she hadn’t before, like the one with the baby and mama bird who nestled in a tree directly outside of her window pane. That testimony was truly reflective of the way in which God speaks to us—through the comfort of pleasantly peaceful and thoughtful moments.

I was chatting with a fellow blogger earlier this morning about this very thing. About how there was just such a great wealth of information disclosed from the Lord throughout the conversation I had with my mother. It was so strong that she and I literally sat and marveled at the Lord [see Revelation 15:3, John 17:24]. We marveled at God’s glory; glory that we as fleshly/human beings cannot behold with our natural eye—that’s how GREAT (as in “big”) God is! Yet, it is so amazing and purifying to just sit and think on the godly and holy things of the Lord [see Joshua 1:8]. I do this a lot, and I found out just yesterday while chatting with my mom that I’ve been calling it “daydreaming” (see labels on right-hand panel).

Anywho, after describing my thoughts on how abundant and rich the knowledge of God is with the fellow blogger, I searched biblegateway.com for a scripture that could describe the feeling of marveling at God's glory. God led me here:

Psalm 139:5-6 says

5Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
6Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

...it really was a good night bonding with my mom. It was a Psalm 139:5-6 night!! ;)

Lately it seems as though we have been drawing nearer to one another... ever since the Lord saved me in 2006, it got difficult to maintain and reconcile my mom’s ways with my new Christ-centered lifestyle [see I Corinthians 15:33]. It’s a blessing--just knowing how God works in the lives of His people by planting common ground along their journeys path, in order [for Christ] to be a witness unto the both of them... what an amazing testimony of the Lord.

[Majority of scriptures added immediately after excerpt above was written].

Mark 1:14-15,

Whitney

My Baby Girl-Cat

Her name is Bitty and she first debuted [ ;) ] in my previous post throughout a series of pictures. You can see them later by searching the labels.

Bitty usually visits me in the mornings if I have my door open—which is hardly ever—but yesterday morning I had my door open because I happened to be awake since I’ve been working from home lately, planning mystery shops and beginning a second blog. This is the most curiously explorative and intuitively-precious cat you’ll ever meet. Honestly. I wish you knew her as well as I do. She’s so adorable.

As I mentioned, on this particular morning (2/3/09) she came to visit me and she was so bubbly and delightful......... I know why! She’s a “Mama’s Cat,” if you know what I mean—she’s very fond of my mom and ya know the folks with a 9-5 job are gone throughout the day, so I’ve therefore convinced myself that she only came to visit me because her Mama Cat wasn’t home! Lol. She’s rarely this playful with me, so that had to be it ;) AND I filmed her little antics:

I love this baby cat.

This is about 0:55 seconds short... and kinda dim, lol.

I'll do better next time.

I must admit that she was quite annoyed with me
when I started filming her--can't you tell? She turned
her
back on me, hehe... so, I eventually cut the camera off ;)

Archived picture of my boo-boo lounging:

Look at those precious mis-matched spotted paws! ;)

God bless,
Mark 1:14-15.
